Load and unload on firm, level ground. Always be alert for possible hazards. Take special care when turning or reversing.

Before lowering the attachments to the ground, make sure that the machine and the area around it are clear of other people. Anyone on or close to the machine could fall and be crushed by the attachments, or get caught in the linkages. Using the forks alone as a working platform is hazardous; you can fall off and be killed or injured.

Never use the forks as a working platform. Quickhitches do not normally have a specific function themselves in that they do not carry out handling or digging operations, but when installed on a machine they become a part of the overall machine system. They are usually mounted on the machine by means of pins that would otherwise be the mountings for the shovel or attachment. If the wrong control lever is moved, or if the controls are moved violently, the other person could be killed or injured.

Retract the locking pins only after the attachment has been placed on the ground. Keep other people clear of the area while you engage the attachment. If a second person is to be involved in this procedure, make sure that they keep clear of the machine and attachment until signalled by you to proceed.

For more information on the servo-control lever and the auxiliary controls A Quickhitch isolator valve is installed on all machines. This valve can be used to hydraulically operate the locking pins to lock an attachment to the Quickhitch. The valve is operated by the Quickhitch isolator switch in the cab.

It must only be removed or handled using a suitable lifting method and device. Remove the pivot pins x4 from the shovel.

Disconnect the shovel from the shovel lever and lift arm with suitable lifting equipment. Inspect the condition of the bushes and seals at the pivot pin joints. Use a press to remove and install the bushes and seals. Remove the bolt x2 , washer x2 from the pivot pin that attaches the shovel and the shovel lever. Install 1. Make sure that the slings are taut and therefore holding the weight of the lift arms. Remove the nuts and bolts. Remove both lift ram pivot pins.

Important: Care must be taken when removing the lift ram pivot pin, once the pin is removed the ram will drop. Either hold the ram using a sling or have a second person hold the ram before removing the pin. Disconnect the electrical connection to the loader shovel reset switch if installed. Disconnect the electrical connection to the quickhitch if installed.

Remove pivot pin retaining bolts x4. Sling the lift arms as shown. Make sure that the sling is wrapped around the lift arms only and not the pivot levers. Remove the klipring and shim. Use a slide hammer to remove the pivot pin. When all the pivot pins have been removed, carefully reverse the machine clear of the lift arms.
