The tile that is flooded is selected by rolling the dice once more. Once a tile has been flooded, the number-tiles on the land-tile are set aside and the land-tile is flipped over, representing a flooded landscape. If a road is surrounded by flooded land-tiles on both sides directly adjacent to it, the road is taken off the board. The player, who receives the number-tiles, must now decide what land-tiles on the board they wish to place the set-aside number-tiles.
Since there will be less visible land-tiles than there will be number-tiles, land-tiles may thus, be allowed to contain more than one number-tile at any given time.
As land-tiles may contain multiple number-tiles, the players must take note that they are not allowed to place two number-tiles of the same number on the same land-tile. Since no robber exists, a player might reasonably assume that knights would be obsolete in this variant of the game.
A player may play the knight before they roll like in a normal game, but also play it after they roll like a normal game would also allow. When a land-tile is shored up, the land-tile is flipped back over and the player who played the knight may grant that shored up land-tile a new number-tile.
