Sigmatel c-major driver update




















I have the correct driver version installed according to the Dell Drivers and Downloads page. So if I go to Dell. And that is the one that is crashing. Does anyone have any other ideas. I considered uninstalling it and just letting Windows find a driver for it. I read in another forum that that seems to work ok, if not better. Ok, so I uninstalled the Sigmatel driver and just let windows find a driver when I restarted. It worked.

It found a driver and I had sound. But unfortunately, one of my two output jacks didn't work. The version it gave me is 6. But I have seen talk of newer A06 versions. It found me these drivers. Despite those being A06 - against Dell's A The A06 drivers are v6. Dell's A03 drivers are v6.

Although it's only recommended you use drivers provided by Dell themselves, there's no reason why they wouldn't work? That's assuming you don't get an advisory that the drivers you're about to install A06 , are older than the ones currently installed A03 - based on what I've said above? I downloaded and installed the A06 driver. My computer accepted it and asked ot restart the computer.

I let it, and when it started back up, I had no sound So I rolled back the driver but unfortunately it rolled back to the default windows audio driver which doesn't include support for the two headphone jacks.

So I am reinstalling the A03 driver. On a related note. I have been having a problem where my Vista 64 machine hangs on shutdown. Basically at shutdown it goes through all the steps, shuts down services, but when it gets to the "Shutting Down" screen the progress circle stops and the computer hangs. The only way to get it to shutdown from there is to do a hard shut down by holding in the power button.
